Why Your Fiddle Leaf Fig Keeps Dropping Leaves

Fiddle leaf figs drop leaves for three reasons, and the plant tells you which one by where the leaves fall from. Lower leaves dropping one at a time usually means too little light. Leaves with brown edges dropping from anywhere mean inconsistent watering, often a cycle of drought and flood. Sudden loss of several green leaves points to a draft or a move: these plants hate being relocated. Put it within a meter of your brightest window, water when the top five centimeters of soil are dry, and then stop moving it. New growth at the top within six weeks means you got it right.
